Social Studies - Gender Equality

  Gender Equality

This term I have been working on a case study on Women's Suffrage (Kate Sheppard). I have also worked on Gender Equality and the injustices between men and women.

What is Gender Equality?

Gender equality is when people of all genders have equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities. Gender equality prevents violence against women and girls. It's essential for economic prosperity. Societies that value women and men as equal are safer and healthier.

What is Gender Inequality?

Gender Inequality is when women and men are treated differently. And those who don't identify as men or women have more of a difficult time. Some of the imbalances include; Pay wage/salary, men get higher positions at work, less power, violence, access to education.

How can we improve Gender Equality?

Here are some ways to improve Gender Equality:

- Remove pay gap
- Have equal prize money
- Choose/recruit clients as per ability
- Share work amount
- Don't be bias
- No violence
- Have clear guidelines and everyone understands them
